Sandra is a long-term collaborator with Tomboy Films, and her films are known for their beautiful photography and gentle performances. Her first feature, The Governess, with Minne Driver and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, won her a BAFTA as Best Newcomer, and received accolades throughout Europe.
Her second feature, Me Without You, was also BAFTA-nominated, and her BBC adaptation of Noel Streatfeild’s Ballet Shoes starring Emma Watson and Eileen Atkins, won Best Director at the Rome TV festival. Recent credits include The Accident by Jack Thorne (Channel 4 and Hulu), Ordeal by Innocence (Amazon Prime) and BBC1’s new drama about Jimmy Savile, The Reckoning, starring Steve Coogan.
